Layers are a very powerful tool for combining images and photo objects. Here you can mix several images together, e.g. to create calendar pages, magazine covers and much more.

The central part of the window displays a list of layers currently located in the work area.
If you've already loaded an image, you will see the thumbnail in the list.
You can load another image as a  layer either from a file or from the clipboard. Click on  and select the source. You can also delete any layer by clicking on it and then clicking  .
Each layer in the list is represented with a thumbnail and an wpe2.jpg (789 bytes) icon. Click on the icon to make the corresponding layer visible or invisible.
Click on the layer to make it active, or to move one layer on top of another one.
If you press ôShiftö while dragging one layer on top of another, the layers will be pasted together.
Above the list of layers is an opacity slider with which you can change the opacity of any layer from 0 to 100. First click on a layer to select it and then move the slider.

The active layer is highlighted in the list by a blue background. You can also make a layer active by clicking on it in the work area. Remember, if you select a layer and then change to another tool, e.g. color correction, the tool will be applied to the active layer only.
